Expandable Baton

Includes Expandable Baton Training training in the use of the standard police baton, the flashlight, the riot baton, and the various expandable batons currently available. This course is good for a Riot Team Leader, which focuses on tactics and baton/shield techniques.

Impact Weapon Course is designed to promote safe and efficacious use of the baton and other similar impact weapons. The participant will learn and understand the situations that allow for the use of the various types of batons, the components of impact weapon use including psychomotor skills involved in impact weapon application, proper means of instruction and testing, and theoretical background to analyze other impact weapon programs in order to develop agency specific programs. Additionally, the Participant will be aware of the probable medical implications associated with these techniques and review the physiology of a confrontation, biomechanical principles of Impact Weapon Tactics and how they relate to instruction and force-systems implementation.

Impact Weapons Course is designed to promote reasonable impact weapon tactics that effectively and efficiently deal with assaultive-level resistors. As a result of the physical nature of the class, participants are required to be in good physical condition.
